Event Description
a brush, a lens & a press
Painter Barbra Edwards, photographer Diane MacDonald and printmaker Dave Skilling have joined forces to showcase their diverse approaches to landscape.
The exhibition Gathered Landscapes unveils the unique response of the three artists to their natural surroundings. While each employs different tools and materials, a familiar rhythm, mood and vibrance emerge.
On a road trip taking in breathtaking vistas or interacting closely with forest surroundings Barbra observes scenes that she intuitively abstracts into her paintings. Diane, rarely without her camera, aims to find unique ways to express the awe she so often experiences in her coastal surroundings. The rhythmic aesthetic of Dave’s linocut prints express his personal experiences on the island lakes and trails.
Each artist gathers essential information in a search to communicate the interconnectedness that exists between humans and the environment.
