Piner Bio:
Piner is a 23 year old singer-songwriter and old soul based in Katarokwi (Kingston, ON, Canada). Piner grew up in the environs of Skeleton Park, a community rife with musicians who put their thoughts into song and sang them to anyone who cared to listen. There, she both experienced the wealth of community and witnessed the reality of struggle.
Piner steps into the stories of others with her music and hopes that her songs will allow listeners to connect with all the complexities of the greater human experience. She released her debut album, The Breaking Point, in July 2018 to critical acclaim, showing “a display of pure confidence and vulnerability” (Mac Cameron, Dominionated). Piner released her full-band EP Root Bound in June 2019, featuring collaborations with Kingstonian artists.
Her newest album, A Netherworld, features many talented Canadian musicians. A project of hope and yearning during fractured, challenging times, Piner creates a world of connection, care and change through her songwriting and action based initiatives.
Michael Broadhead, Sam Nicks, Liam Cole and James Taylor will be lending their incredible musical talents as her backing band for the show.
