Artist Bio:

Amanda Marie is a ceramic artist currently based in Lekwungan Territory off Canada’s pacific coast, whose creative practice is heavily influenced and inspired by the alien elements of nature. Amanda’s work endeavours to challenge the traditional techniques of craft and questions the ideas of perfection, defectiveness, and belonging in the medium, bending the structured methods that shape the practice. Utilizing her background in environmental studies and geology, she seeks to enhance the connection to earth, through playing with elements in ceramic processes that so often replicate, distort and remix the natural creative processes that exists in nature. Amanda's studio was founded in 2017 and currently her practice consists of making unique one of a kind ceramics and small batch productions.
