Melos Choir & Period Instruments, under the artistic direction of Holly Gwynne-Timothy, presents “Magnificats - 15th-18th Centuries”, featuring four settings of the Magnificat: a haunting, 15th Century Cambridge setting; Monteverdi's majestic 1601 setting with cornetti and sackbuts; Sister Isabella Leonarda's setting for strings and choir; and J.S. Bach's famous Magnificat, BWV 243, with Baroque trumpets, oboes, traverso flutes, and more! Saturday, June 1, 7:30pm at St. George's Cathedral, 270 King St. East, Kingston.
