Bands!Bands!Bands! Vol. VI is ready to rock n’ roll! Join us in welcoming the featured locally talented bands for the month of February… Rare-Earth Magnet, Arbutus Roots, Charis Tazumi & Dysaynia!

Rare-Earth Magnet
Based in Port Alberni, BC (originally formed in Whitehorse, Yukon), Rare-Earth Magnet is a synth playing, prog-ish, guitar soloing, show gaze, bedroom pop, modern rock band fronted by Zach and Amber Pelland.

Arbutus Roots
Established in 2017, made up of 4 Vancouver Island musicians who don’t hate each other. Just kidding they all basically grew up in each others homes and have played music in one way or another for the last 20 years.

Blending some pop, folding in some alternative, and a dash of folk, Arbutus Roots write original songs and create music as whatever next world threatening event unfolds before them.

Charis Tazumi
Charis Tazumi is a singer-songwriter based out of Victoria B.C, who shared her most heartfelt thoughts through wistful instrumentations and compelling lyricism. She is inspired by a blend of folk, indie and RnB styles, all contributing to her unique and charming sound. Her latest single “Day Girl Meets the Night Boy” is available on all streaming platforms, and she is currently working on her debut album!

Dysaynia
Dysaynia is a new local band from Victoria. They are heavily influenced by 90s grunge music and the 2000s indie scene. They recently recorded their first single “Ivy” and have many more original songs in the works being prepared for recording. Dysaynia has been invested in the local scene for about six months and is eager to play with fellow emerging bands. Dysaynia has been a band for about 8 months now but they already have over 14 original songs to pick and choose from for their set list. They are motivated and ready by request to play anytime anywhere!
