Event Description
The Vic Theatre: Starship Troopers
Director Paul Verhoeven's vision of futuristic warfare is a rollercoaster of action and satire. Don't miss this bug-blasting classic! In director Paul Verhoeven‘s futuristic vision, humanity confronts a terrifying alien threat in a relentless interstellar war. Much like his earlier work in Robocop, Starship Troopers is a hybrid of action and satirical deconstruction of authoritarianism. The cult classic follows the tumultuous journey of Johnny Rico (Casper Van Dien) and his fellow young recruits as they work to earn their citizenship by going to war with “the bugs”. With a star-studded ensemble, including Dina Meyer, Denise Richards, and Dougie Howser himself, Neil Patrick Harris, the film explores the values of their semi-fascist society while providing some incredible battle sequences and emotional peaks.
