Event Description

The Kingston Baroque Consort (KBC) is pleased to present a “Festival of Music, Art, and Dance”, October 6-14, with the generous support of the Kingston Arts Council.

On Saturday 14 October from 1:30pm to 2:30pm, Baroque dance specialist Edgar Tumak will present a workshop on “Baroque dance steps” at St James Church (10 Union St, Kingston). On the same day from 3pm to 4pm, Queen’s University Professor and Bader Chair in Southern Baroque Art Gauvin Bailey will present a lecture on “Louis XIV, Versailles, the King of Siam, and Ballet-Opera Diplomacy in the 17th Century” at the Stauffer Library on the Queen’s University campus.

Festival passes cost $25 (adults) and $10 (students), and free for under 17. Passes are available by emailing [email protected], calling 613-217-5099, in person at Novel Idea (156 Princess St), or at the door with cash, cheque, or interac e-transfer. Visit
