Event Description
The quintessential jazz singer, Jeremy Wong has a varied range, including everything from swing, hard bop, bossa nova and Latin, to pop, RnB, and classic rock.
Jeremy is one of Vancouver’s rising stars of jazz, with a rich baritone that evokes such classic voices as Nat King Cole and Johnny Hartman,. Along with modern greats like Kurt Elling. Like Elling, he is a fellow disciple of vocals, following in the footsteps of John Hendricks and bringing old standards new life through his poignant, honest lyrics and storytelling.
A seasoned performer, Jeremy’s resume includes festival appearances fronting the Bruce James Orchestra, the role of Paul in Pascal Saunier’s opera, Le Destin du Jazz Club, many gigs around Vancouver, as well as entertaining around the world. Since returning to Vancouver, Jeremy Wong released his debut album, Hey There, through Cellar Music Group in September 2022.
Jeremy brings with him to the stage, the incredible Ashley Wey on piano, Louis Rudner on bass, and Hans Verhoeven on drums.
This show is presented to you by The U-JAM Society as a part of their annual U-JAM Summer Jazz Workshop. The Students of the Camp will be Jamming with Jeremy and Band after 8:30pm. Come on down and enjoy!
