Featuring Nicholas Atkinson performing Gregson's Tuba Concerto - you won't hear this music anywhere else in Victoria!

Tuba player Nicholas Atkinson has enjoyed a professional career of over fifty-five years. He was Principal Tuba with the National Arts Centre Orchestra from 1976-2017, appearing several times as a featured soloist, and has performed with all of the major Canadian orchestras. In 1989 he filled the position of Principal Tuba with Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal. He was also a founding member of the Canadian National Brass Project. Mr. Atkinson taught at the University of Ottawa from 1976-2003, at Queens University from 1983-93, and has given master classes at all of the major Canadian music schools. From 2006-2017 he was low-brass coach with the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. Since his retirement to Victoria in 2017 he has remained active as a player and brass coach.

ADMISSION: $20 general admission; $5 students
Purchase tickets in advance (preferred) or pay cash at the door.
