Event Description
Although we are 30 days late in getting together to celebrate the 30 years anniversary of CanUS performing at Hermann’s we are glad to report all is back to normal. Thank you for your understanding comment and we also want to dedicate our program today to the memory of a musician who’s history goes back even further. Hugh Barclay was the trombonist in the first full dixieland band to play at Hermann’s: Dixieland Express Jazz Band. Guest musicians will be welcome.
So, amazingly, we have had 30 years of performing here but while at the same time touring the U.S. and Canada Traditional Jazz Festivals. The musicians may vary over time but the music remains true to our style. Alfons Fear is on trumpet Al Pease, reeds, Simon Stribling, trombone, Avram McCagherty banjo, Lauri Lyster , drums, Joey Smith bass, leader and tickling the ivories in her ragtime-y style is Toni Blodgett. And we sing! Make a date and celebrate this special musical event in a world class show room with restaurant service! CanUS offers traditional New Orleans Jazz and early swing era standards played by musicians who know how to get those feet tapping and lift your spirits in tough times with lots of room for you to bring friends as well. 'Happy jazz' is something we can all enjoy together.
