Light, Steel & Imagination
Photography and metal work art show.
9-5 Daily
Free
Opening: Thursday 1st January 1970
Event Description
This event provides a rich visual experience covering a wide range of photographic genres combined with two and three-dimensional metal art. Award winning photographic art on canvas and paper ranges from abstract pieces to wildlife, land and cityscapes; to flowers and to horses running free. Two artists, Rick Shapka and Leah Gray are CAPA certified judges and Steve Smith has judged Canadian and international competitions. Leah Gray and Steve Smith are currently teaching a program of photography courses at the Mctavish Academy of Art in North Saanich. Donna Christie translates her knowledge as a master gardener to her creative floral photography. John Bukovec produces free standing metal sculptures of birds where every feather is individually crafted. His metal silhouettes provide another body of imaginative and creative work.
Time visiting this show is time well spent. Escape from the confusion and dissonance of our modern world to connect with beauty, imagination, creativity, and skill.
