We mark night 3 of Victoria's 23rd Annual Ska & Reggae Festival by celebrating the truly global appeal and power of reggae music with the iconic KING YELLOWMAN & K'REEMA and New Zealand's reggae powerhouse, THREE HOUSES DOWN. There are few dancehall deejays as renowned and legendary as the mighty KING YELLOWMAN and Victoria Ska & Reggae Festival is beyond excited to welcome the icon back. Side by side with his incredibly talented and captivating daughter K'REEMA, festival goers can expect a truly unforgettable performance that highlights the best of dancehall and reggae, with splashes of modern R&B and soul dripping through their performance. An albino who was abandoned as a youth and shunned by parts of the reggae community as he grew up, King Yellowman has persisted through it all and remains a shining example of the power of reggae and continues to spread a message of peace, love and unity for all people regardless of colour, race, sexual orientation or identity.

A powerhouse 12-piece band from New Zealand, THREEE HOUSES DOWN is a group so awesome, a group that plays such sweet reggae, that we had to have them on more than one show this year, as they make their way to Canada for the very first time. This show is in addition to their opening night performance at Ship Point (June 22) AND their free workshop session (June 24). The group plays some of the sweetest, most gorgeous roots-reggae music, highlighted by the sublime harmonies of brothers Rob, Sione and Charlie. But it's Rob's 16-year old son, known to the world as GENERAL FIYAH, that is bound to steal at least a few hearts. A member of the band since just the age of 10, General Fiyah has become beloved by reggae-lovers for his heavenly voice and effervescent stage presence. Come feel the love and the sweet, sculptural reggae riddims of Three Houses Down fall into your ears and warm your soul.

Keeping our feet moving between sets for our reggae celebration is the powerhouse DJ combo of DJ KEMO & DJ AREMS. Expect the finest in reggae, dancehall, hip-hop and everything in between when these two get behind the wheels of steel. Guaranteed, wall-to-wall freshness from opening to closing on this Friday night reggae party.
