Join the Groove Grinders at Collingwood Days 1st Annual Spring Festival celebrating the rich history of Collingwood from a lake, to farmland and now to high rises and a rich multicultural community. Saturday, May 14th, Collingwood Neighbourhood House and the community will inaugurate its new innitiative of a community garden - in a neighbourhood, which was once filled with orchards and market gardens. There will be a parade from the Joyce-Collingwood station to the multicultural business district at Kingsway and Joyce featuring historical, and modern environmentally sensitive vehicles. An array of multicultural local performances, foods from around the world, and roving performers will be found along the business area streets. Youth led sports activities, a baseball game with youth versus the police, and a recollections & history tent are just a few of the days planned activities. Rides between the upper village along Kingsway to the lower village and the Joyce-Collingwood Skytrain station will be available. The Groove Grinders will be entertaining you at the Safeway (Corner of Kingsway & Tyne)from about 1: 15 to 3:00, closing the official activities. And we promise, you will at the very least be tapping your toes.
