Meridiem Wind Orchestra begins its 8th season performing the captivating and expressive works written for wind ensemble.
This will be an evening of music inspired by cityscapes & landscapes, including 3 exciting world premieres by local composers, Gordon Clements, Ian McDougall, & Jared Richardson.
Other works on the program include Johan de Meij's 'Red Tower', Percy Grainger's 'Country Gardens', 'Shenandoah' by Frank Ticheli, 'City Trees' by Michael Markowski, and the grand ending to Mussorgsky's 'Pictures at an Exhibition' - 'The Great Gate of Kiev'.
The program will be conducted by Meridiem's Artistic Director, Scott MacInnes, and guest conductor Dr. Steven Capaldo, director of the University of Victoria Wind Symphony.
