Dubversified Culture is about bringing the artistic community together through dub & Deep influenced music and pathways of full artistic expression. Leading to the next season (fall 2019), we are dedicated more than ever to introduce Victoria to the most underground, but yet, high quality sonic dance floor experiences. We have been consistant at delivering safe and community driven events in the last 2 years in Victoria, BC.
Introducing, from Calgary, AB: Sub Chakra
Established in 2011 - Sub Chakra is a cooperative of like-minded individuals focused on delivering high-quality events for people to experience soundsystem culture. We are driven by inclusion, a sense of community and careful curation of both sonics and stage design - all in a safe and intimate environment.
We focus on roots music and the low-end, left-field spectrum of electronic music. The distinct production and selections of Metafloor, Syntax, Carissa Gem and Method Sound collectively represent the various shades of Sub Chakra’s Sound.

Jonny Ng - better known as Syntax has been immersed in the Calgary bass music scene for nearly 10 years. From creative writer for UK based dubstep label/blog Trusik, to leading member of Calgary based crew Sub Chakra. One who takes great pride in his selections, Syntax stays true to the craft by DJing exclusively on vinyl records where he demonstrates his candid ear and precision mixing.

Carissa Gem
Starting out as a teenage DIY rave maven in interior British Columbia, Carissa Gem has seen a substantial rise in profile since moving to Calgary. Her persistent desire to improve her curatorial and bass-tastic musical skills is paying off with membership in the Sub Chakra crew, a hand in the HiFi Club’s fixture New Wave nights and a prime Friday night slot on CJSW. Lord knows where the bass will take her next.

Metafloor
Blaine Kingcott aka Metafloor, is the founder of the Sub Chakra crew in Calgary AB. A triple threat DJ, producer and event promoter, always pushing the proper soundsystem experience. His roots are founded in the 140 realms but today have expanded into the halftime, footwork-jungle sound, and has received support from label’s locally and abroad such as Aufect, Modern Ruin, Really Good Recordings, and more. Regularly performing at festivals like Bass Coast, Shambhala, Astral Harvest and more. Wherever you may find Metafloor you can expect exactly that, the new, the “meta”.

Method Sound
Method Sound is a sojourner of two cities, splitting his time between Calgary and Edmonton. Here, bass music culture thrives; welcoming his moody and patient productions that push dance floors and sink deep into the psyche. Influenced by the atmospheric dub sound of King Tubby and the sprawling environments created by Boards of Canada. His attention to sound design is evidence of these guides, creating scapes that capture spatial textures and auditory vistas.

Dj Blackout (Dubversified Resident)
Originally from Québec, @blackooout started mixing house and hip hop in 2010. Blackout has rocked crowds of 5000, and his underground flavor gets bodies moving whenever he plays. He also participated and Won DJ Battle such as Red Bull 3style.
Blackout also founded Dubversified Culture. A Brand designed to support local West coast Bass artists and create bridges with other Dub Scenes around the world.
