Featuring the renowned jazz organist Dr. Tony Genge, special guest Vancouver's own tenor sax great Mike Allen w power-house drummer Kelby MacNayr! Music from the classic organ masters Jimmy Smith, Shirley Scott, Dr. Lonnie Smith & Larry Young.

Award-winning saxophonist, pianist composer and band-leader Mike Allen has made a name for himself across Canada and beyond. Numerous, critically acclaimed recording as a leader and collaborator have Mike in demand at festivals and concert halls across North America and beyond. Mike's playing can reminiscent of the Sonny Rollins school of warm and playful tone or the virtuosity and soulful sound of Coltrane but Mike's sound and style are all his own. A rare chance to hear Mike in this intimate and soulful setting of an old-school Organ trio! Highly recommended!

Drummer Kelby MacNayr has performed with acclaimed Grammy and Juno award-winning jazz artists from Terrell Stafford to John Clayton, Regina Carter and Christine Jensen. MacNayr brings an infectious energy and creativity to performances with the SoutTet, and his numerous other projects and collaborations including the Great American Songbook Trio, Art Blakey Project and the All-star original project the renowned Kelby MacNayr Quintet featuring Phil Dwyer and Miles Black.
