Psych and Soul Weekend - [Year 2]

Supported by Creative BC, the Province of British Columbia, Finding Charlotte Photography and WildFire Organic Bakery and Cafe, Psych & Soul Weekend is an electric weekend of live psychedelic rock and soul music paired with live visuals from Studio 549!

Two nights, eight outstanding Canadian acts, live curated visuals, one unique venue! The show will take place in a retro-theatre venue, The Roxy Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre on 2657 Quadra Street in Victoria BC

Plucked from an orchard in Vancouver BC, a toothless puppeteer takes a bite of a poison apple placed on a platter for everyone with a taste that must not be wasted. This frenetic and high-energy 4 piece write songs blending both surf and psychedelic rock; and have shared the stage with some killer bands such as Bored Décor, Japan's Kikagaku Moyo / 幾何学模様 and more~ Not to be missed~~!!

What happens when you mix sweet R&B and sultry soul together with a splash of hip-hop, and then add a generous helping of funk? You get a genre-bending mash-up of the funkiest, hard-groovin’, booty-shaking dance music that is The New Groovement. Eleven members work their collective magic to create the group’s powerhouse sound. With Stevie Wise and Shane Blaq at the helm, they are found regularly wowing crowds at the region’s biggest festivals and touring Western Canada~ With the New Groovement it’s not just a band – it’s an experience!
