For Canadian Artist and world traveller, Anne Meggitt, painting has been a life-long adventure in partnership with nature. Her new exhibition, “Anne Meggitt: Humble Magnificence” is a showing of her oil canvases, inspired by the spectacular coastal rainforest of Vancouver Island. Anne has regularly exhibited her paintings in solo exhibitions across Canada and internationally since 1985, including at public gallery exhibitions in Regina and Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
At a time when the impact of climate change is already on our doorstep, it is of profound importance to Anne to bring nature prominently into the view of people, as a call to action to think about and take responsibility for their planet. Her art brings to our attention the quiet majestic treasures of BC that we must fight to preserve. She sees paintable natural beauty in views that many take for granted.
