Exhibition of recent work by Kate Scoones. As a descendant of Gulf Island sheep farmers, Kate asks whether her ancestors grasped the consequences their farming practices on the land and on the people, who had foraged the islands for centuries. Through the use of textiles, paper constructions, paintings and drawings, this work merges elements of native food plants with European domestic objects.

Kate received a BFA (Honours in Painting) from the University of Victoria 1985 and continued her studies at the Art Studio Program at the Banff Centre for the arts 1985/86 and 87/88.
