Event Description
Presented by the Penticton Art Gallery in partnership with the Cyrrus Gallery Damascus.
In the midst of a conflict that has gripped the entire world, Behind the Lines | Contemporary Art from Syria is a traveling exhibition featuring paintings, photos, video and sculptures created by 19 contemporary Syrian artists. This exhibition features a wide range of artistic styles and media by artists ranging from the emerging to well established and internationally recognized. Individually and collectively their powerful work stands as a testament to their existence and aims to inspire not only people in Syria but also here in Canada. This exhibition is meant to build a greater understanding of the Syrian People, their art, rich culture, history and the turmoil their country continues to undergo.
