About:

LORI FREEDMAN
Lori Freedman is a Montreal-based musician. Freelance, independent. Meaning, she wears a few hats. She is a performer who plays music for contrabass, bass, A, B-flat, C and E-flat clarinets. She plays written and improvised music, ranging in settings from orchestra, concerti, chamber ensemble and solo. Freedman also writes concert music, music for dance, film and theatre. She performs in all of these arenas both live on stage and in the recording studio. As well as touring extensively Freedman teaches contemporary and improvised music for all instruments.

TONY WILSON’S BROKEN MERCHANDISE
The members of Broken Merchandise were raised in the same broken down house in the inner city of Juno, Alaska. Even though they are unrelated, the boys all ended up somehow growing up together. As they reached their late teens, they all moved to various Canadian WalMart stores, where they were employed as greeters. Welcome to WalMart, "we love you", was their mantra. For this very special event the boys will be reunited and will perform on broken WalMart hardware items. All WalMart employees will receive free admission, the rest of you pay up.

ELDRITCH PRIEST
Eldritch Priest is a composer and improviser. His compositions, which have been performed in NA and EU, are characterized by their ob/excessive approach to melody, not in a systematic or meaningful sense, but in the sense that they don’t stop and are utterly foolish. His improvisations are like this too, but improvised. Eldritch is co-founder and co-artistic director of the now defunct Toronto-based experiential music ensemble Neither/Nor and former member of the Ottawa Sun Ra tribute outfit Rake Star. Eldritch is also a professor At Simon Fraser University and a member of the experimental theory group The Occulture.

BRADY CRANFIELD
Based in Vancouver, Brady Cranfield is a musician and artist and co-operator of Selectors' Records, which specializes in electronic music and dub. Drums are his primary instrument but he also uses electronics and laptop and DJs. His set at Gold Saucer will introduce a new solo improvised project that uses a midi drum kit to trigger processed drum machines. You can also find him playing drums with the heavy rock group Womankind and drum machine with the improvised electronic noise duo Death.Drive.
