Based in Victoria, the Emily Carr String Quartet has quickly established itself as one of BC’s finest music ensembles. Their passionate and inspiring performances have led critics to write about “some of the most intensely driven and eloquently passionate playing I have heard in sometime” and “a musical experience unlikely soon to be forgotten.”
This performance includes the world premiere of composer Jennifer Butler’s Klee Wyck Woman based on words by Mohawk/Tuscarora writer from the Ontario Six Nations Janet Rogers, and sung by Mezzo Soprano Marion Newman.
