EVENT DETAILS
Since the mid eighties Genitorturers have been recognized for musically dispelling taboos in conservative culture and pushing the limits in sexual conversation with tracks like Lecher Bitch and Cum Junkie. The release of the album Sin City in 1998 found the band bringing intense themes of BDSM to the forefront of pop culture snagging them air time with HBO, VH1 and Playboy. Genitorturers emanated what many may consider to be wretched sexual behaviour distastefully paired with provocative lyrics and haunting riffs (but we think it kicks ass). Their reluctance to follow the norm found them coined as the “World’s Sexiesy Band” by Hustler Magazine. Catch Genitorturers October 27th at the Rickshaw for a pre Halloween celebration that will certainly be too sexy for all shirts and your fuddy-duddy friends.

DESCRIPTION

GENITORTURERS Renowned for their status as agents provocateur of the underground hard rock and industrial metal scenes and a product of Orlando, Florida’s musical underbelly. What Genitorturers lack in wholesome family fun, they make up for in their celebration of the unspeakable, embracing and exploring our conservative culture’s taboos. They caught the ear (and eye) of legendary music industry magnate Miles Copeland, who signed the band to their first deal on his I.R.S. label, where they joined the ranks of fellow Copeland signings Gary Numan, The Go-Gos and R.E.M.
