EVENT DETAILS
Their haunting soundscapes are chilling - like arriving at a haunted house. As you walk down the epic black sidewalk followed by the eerie creak of a white picket gate slamming behind you, you can feel the hairs on the back of your neck shiver. It’s time to fully immerse yourself into the synth abyss.

Saturday, September 9, 2017
The Rickshaw Theatre, 254 East Hastings Street
Doors 8PM

DESCRIPTION

PERTURBATOR is the synth child of James Kent, a black metal guitarist turned retro synth mastermind. Since 2012 he has released four full length albums, the most recent being The Uncanny Valley in May 2016. Metal Injection went as far to say that “everything James Kent makes sounds like the soundtrack to some kind of horrible, futuristic murder within the confines of a dingy city drenched in neon lights and scantily-clad hookers”. Kent has an incredible knack for creating hypnotizing tonal environments which draw you deep into his synth laden galaxy.

AUTHOR & PUNISHER is a one-man industrial doom metal band from San Diego, CA, made up of mechanical engineer and artist Tristan Shone. Shone’s instrumentation is done with custom fabrication from raw materials and open source electronic circuitry. As a result, Author & Punisher is undoubtedly the most haunting and raw rendition of electronic music in the 2000’s and a brilliant mixture of doom and industrial metal.

WEIRD CANDLE is scheduled as local support.
