Event Description

The Nick La Riviere Band is a big group with a big sound. Featuring Miguelito Valdes on trumpet, Barrie Sorensen on sax, and Nick La Riviere on trombone, conch shells, vocals, and whatever else he can get his hands on, the powerhouse horns know how to deliver. The band also features Kelly Fawcett on Guitar, Damian Graham on drums, and from Vancouver - Aidan Miller on keys, and Jim Bennett on bass. Along with Nick, Jim is another member of the Paperboys, and is known for his incredible bass solos. Just ask his almost 3 million YouTube viewers for his solo video of Daft Punk’s tune “Get Lucky”, that features Jim playing all the harmonies and parts at once with no looper or other gadget (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbEz1mvQyvY). The show will feature a mix of original jazz, funk, and R&B… along with a blend of funky New Orleans treats, and other tunes that make you want to get up out of your seat.

Check out this solo video of Nick performing a mash up of popular New Orleans Professor Longhair tunes. It’s even more entertaining with a full band! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WQSDnFLJCo
