The Spirit Train is a concert of remarkable music celebrating train songs, African American spirituals and a few transcendent pieces by Woody Guthrie, The Beach Boys and Billy Joel just to keep it all choo chooin’ along. The fresh and deeply inspired arrangements sung by the Sooke Community Choir under the direction of Bruce Ruddell, Artistic Director, also include powerful piano accompaniments and a solo work performed by Kathy Russell with original percussion arrangements played by renowned Victoria percussionist Kelby MacNayr. If you’ve attended our concerts over the last three years you’ll know to get your tickets before the train leaves the station. If you are looking for a new music experience hop aboard The Spirit Train. We think you’ll be happy with the ride.
