Event Description

Capture ideas to create your own native garden
There is no better place to celebrate Earth Day than in Fort Rodd Hill’s Garry Oak Learning Meadow while the native flowers are at their best. The guided interpretive tours of the Learning Meadow, the Conservation Nursery and the Historic Nature Trail led by Parks Canada staff will reveal the benefits of naturescaping with native plants. Collect ideas for your own gardens while chatting with the experts. And stop by the Species at Risk booth to engage your senses with special demonstrations focussing on pollinators (e.g. Name that Pollinator) and making native plant seed bombs – the kids will love it!
