On Friday, April 7, 2017, the Association of Canadian Women Composers will celebrate 100 years of women's right to vote in British Columbia, with "A Spirit Indomitable" a concert featuring the women's choir Ensemble Laude, the Emily Carr String Quartet, and introducing soprano Elizabeth Gerow, and pianist Jannie Berdeti.
The concert will be held at First Church of Christ Scientist, 1205 Pandora Ave., and will consist of music by Canadian Women, with an emphasis on those from British Columbia. This makes it a unique event.
It begins at 7:30 p.m., with a short talk on the history of suffrage in British Columbia, included in the ticket price, at 7:00.
We're here to help artists and arts organizations reach their audiences and each other.
