Financier Jerome (Mathieu Amairic) has been working in Shanghai for 10 years and is coming to Europe to close a deal in London and introduce his Chinese fiancée (Gemma Chan) to his somewhat dysfunctional family.

Over dinner, Jerome learns his family home is at the centre of a local dispute between the oily town mayor and an old-school friend and he decides to get involved. There’s corruption, legal irregularities, a pretty distraction, and the missing page from a will – and, in the hands of master filmmaker Rappeneau, it’s a cutting insight into the French bourgeoisie.
