The Victoria Django Festival kicks into high gear for the Saturday Night Main Event Concert & Dance! This year's line-up features the return of 2015 favourites The Gonzalo Bergara Quartet. One of the most innovative and virtuosic ensembles working in any style, Bergara’s music exists in a way that very little music does. He has lavished such care on every phrase, built each arrangement with such lapidary precision and pared away anything extraneous, the music becomes sculpture. It has weight, density, gravity. This is serious... and deeply moving. A fresh new group of fabulous musicians also from California Hedgehog Swing and Vancouver's Deanna Knight & The Hot Club of Mars round out the line up along with The Seaside Swingers Dance Troupe and Jack West(Circus Act)
From the pristine sound of the Opera House stage to the heat of the dance floor guests flow between two beautiful stages all night long! A stayed tradition of the Victoria Django Festival, all the events are stocked with delicious nibbles and quenching libations from local sponsors Hoyne Brewery, The Whole Beast, The Hot and Cold Cafe and Pizzeria Prima Strada, as well as dance competitions hosted each night by The Swing Dance Association of Victoria.
