Puppets for Peace
Event Description
Join human host Kirsten Van Ritzen and the puppet of the evening ‘The Little Yellow Guy’ (LYG) aka Tim Gosley. The LYG is currently pumped after his one second of fame with the Fab Royal Foursome on the Creepy Royal Party Video! They will present monarchists to anarchists in a commonwealth of puppet variety. Not only will there be Muppet-like warm & fuzzy nostalgic childhood moments, but the show will venture into the realms of the avant-garde, the artsy-fartsy, plus a skimpy titillating touch of Burlesque. And with the LYG’s new connections to Kensington Palace, the festivities open with Her Royal Highness Queen Victoria. This cabaret is 19 + adults only (Georges and Charlottes must stay at home with their nannies.)
What is a Puppet Jam? It’s a non-competitive Slam. Replace Poet with Puppet and you have a vague idea of what you are in for. At the SLAM BAM PUPPET JAM enjoy a drink in a cabaret setting of the Victoria Event Centre as the puppet acts unfold in an ever-changing array of inanimate objects brought to life. Previous SLAMS have featured shadow puppets, marionettes, humanettes (a human head on a puppet body), operatic hand puppets, and real fish manipulated on rods … the fish were dead, old and smelly. Everything is game and anything might happen!
