Event Description

InterArts Centre, Rifflandia and Dockside Green present a rare speaking engagement with

Laura Jane Grace (Musician & Activist • Against Me!)

DJ Spooky (AKA Paul Miller • Musical Innovator)

Damian Abraham (Singer & Host • Fucked Up, VICE TV)

A rare conversation with punk rocker, frontwoman, trans activist, and trans soul rebel Laura Jane Grace.

Working with the likes of Kool Keith, Dave Lombardo, and Yoko Ono, DJ Spooky, A.K.A. Paul D. Miller, is well known as a versatile musician. But Miller is also making a name for himself in the global science community for his unique and innovative exploration of climate change. In 2007 and 2008, Miller went on two expeditions to Antarctica, sparking a multimedia project exploring what Antarctica symbolizes for humanity facing a changing world. In 2014, Miller went to the Arctic circle. Producing film, music, and written work to express his vision, Miller approaches the discussion on climate change in a refreshing and engaging way.

* DJ Spooky will be performing a very special live remix with a string quartet

Damian Abraham is going to surprise you. Whether you know him as the head-butting front man of Fucked Up, the host of the Wedge, or you’ve been watching late-night Fox News. That’s right. Fox News. This man has appeared on Fox News. But then again, what doesn’t he do? He is fast becoming one of the most versatile humans in media today, period. He is a correspondent for VICE news where he regularly reports on current marijuana issues and debates. He does his own podcast, Turned out a Punk, in which he talks to all sorts of people with one thing in common: they all grew up listening to punk.
