Event Description
Exhibition Statement:
I am interested in spaces where human and non human elements coalesce and describe a social situation. The "Tent City" here in Victoria is nothing if not descriptive, and in this work I have attempted to paint the textures of cloth, sticks, soil, foliage and ephemera... There are many reasons why people have ended up on the margins of society and there are many opinions about them too. These paintings are not opinion pieces, they are meant to be descriptive and beautiful. I hope the viewer may delight in the colours and textures of these paintings and feel unsettled about it. This triptych will be shown in sequence, one at a time here in the Odeon Alley Window over the course of three weeks.
