This week, the theme of the Oaklands Sunset Market is Fuel Up for Fitness! Come check out what the Oaklands Community Association has to offer for recreation programs and listen to the tunes of The Phatfunks and Swingkey. This week also features pop-up theatre from Theatre SKAM, bottle sales from Hoyne Brewing Company and Averill Creek Vineyard, and a free canning workshop by Lindsay Kearns.

The Oaklands Market is a free weekly outdoor market that runs every Wednesday from June to September offering local fresh food, live music, a beer garden, community events and a chance to meet your neighbours. The Market is hosted at the Oaklands Community Centre at 1-2827 Belmont Ave in Victoria. Since its beginning in 2012, the market has grown in size and frequency and now includes up to 50 vendors representing fresh produce, prepared food, hot food, arts and crafts, local non-profits and small businesses. Oaklands Community Association hosts the Market in order to provide a venue for neighbours and local businesses to come together and build community connections.

The Phatfunks

The Phatfunks are a group of 6 talented young musicians hailing from Victoria, Canada. Ranging in age from 16-19, the band attends local high schools, and the University of Victoria.
