Welcome to the old-fashioned parlour of 909 Sycamore Street, a boarding house for ancient females. The six residents - presumed sweet little old ladies until they prove otherwise - have a unique solution to the problem of getting that handsome homicide detective, Dennis O’Finn, to pay them a visit. You’ll find that a nice genteel homicide, with a cup of tea as the murder weapon, is all it takes. However, when Detective O’Finn discovers he’s the motive for this murder, and decides to distance himself from the ladies, what are the sweet dears to do?
C. B. Gilford has written a play with some very funny lines and the director, Michael King, and the cast have built on that to provide a show filled with laughter and fun. Look for the book levelling the coffee table, the subtle touches by Amantha and Birdie’s body language. Poor Detective O’Finn doesn’t stand a chance against these old dears.
The play starts with two for one night on May 18th and runs at 7:30 from May 19th - 21st, 25th – 28th with matinees on May 21st - 22nd and 28th – 29th. Tickets are $16 and may be purchased at the door on the night of the performance or in advance from Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/bull-in-a-china-shop-mysterycomedy-tickets-24348790889 or through Ticket Rocket at http://www.ticketrocket.co/event/season/12, by phone at 250-590-6291 or in person at 2 – 1609 Blanshard Street (at Fisgard) Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
