. Friday, May 13th IMU presents BREHDREN, WANNANAWANNA & The ELEVEN TWELVES @ LanaLou's, 362 Powell Street . Show 9:30pm / $10 cover

BREHDREN - With varied musical backgrounds and a combined love of ska and reggae, the eight members of Brehdren bring in elements of jazz, indie pop and progressive rock to create their own unique flavour. Based around a crazy, energetic front man, the rhythm and horn section cover a range of ground, from extended jams to two-minute freak outs. http://www.facebook.com/brehdren

WANNANAWANNA is a Vancouver-based 4-piece sonic exploration into the effects of fuzzed-out garage rock inflected with dreamy funk. http://www.facebook.com/Wannanawanna

The ELEVEN TWELVES pump out authentic renditions of vintage garage rock and power pop, recreating the raw energy and youthful spirit of bands from The Kinks and The Who to The Sonics and 13th Floor Elevators. Full of fuzzy guitar riffs, soaring harmonies, manic drumming, transistor organ and the odd harmonica solo, they transport their audiences back to the underground of the '60s. http://www.facebook.com/theeleventwelves
