Anton Chekhov’s first play is reimagined by Michael Frayn in a comedy full of sensational love triangles. Platonov has a way with women: he’s a cad, but just can’t help it! On a country estate, the young widow Anna returns for the summer, reuniting with friends, neighbours and family. As the party progresses, everyone is playing elaborate games of romantic cat and mouse in one hilarious love triangle. The play swings between melodrama and farce and shakes them into an intoxicating cocktail.
