A New Orleans Inspired Funk Brouhaha from Victoria BC
Unknown
Event Description
The HiFi has been described as a 'Funky New Orleans Brouhaha'. Nick La Riviere (trombone/conch shells/vocals), 'Art Booker' (piano/vocals), Ryan Tandy (bass), and of course Mr Damian Graham (drums) rock the stage, performing original music as well as covers of Dr John, Allen Toussaint, the Meters, and The Seatbelts. Yes, the Seatbelts. Ever listen to CBC's All Points West? If so, you've probably heard our version of a Seatbelts tune called Tank. They use it regularly as one of their themes.
There's disco lights, a smoke machine, maybe some dancing, definitely some humour.
