Event Description

The Ministry of Casual Living is proud to present the second istallation of the 24 HOUR POETRYTHON!

Starting at 9am on October 17th, we will have poetry being performed for 24 hours straight!

In the spring of 2014 the first 24 HOUR POETRYTHON was held in our gallery space at 819 Fort st. The day and night was filled with laughter, tears, and heartfelt poems from a diverse array of poets and artists.

This time, as the most important Canadian election in recent history reaches a cresceno, we will take the poems to the streets, in the open air in our public square, creating a unique space for poetic democracy.

Just like last time there will be a donation box for P.E.E.R.S. , an organization in need of support. For more information or to donate online visit:

We also need performers! If you are interested in performing please e-mail [email protected] to schedule your timeslot. Depending on vocal stamina, you can perform for 15 minutes to an hour.

If you cannot attend and would like some of your poems read, please e-mail your poems to [email protected] as well.

There will also be a pile of poetry books on site if you don't have original poems, or bring some poems by your favourite poet to read if you wish!
