Event Description

New Politics and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness to Co-headline
North American Fall Tour Presented by Journeys

The Wilderness Politics Tour, Presented by Journeys, Features Special Guests
The Griswolds and LOLO

New Politics and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness announced today that they are teaming up for The Wilderness Politics Tour – a 20+ city North American co-headline tour, presented by Journeys. Kicking off on October 12 in Portland, OR – the red-hot bands will visit major markets including Vancouver, Los Angeles, Austin, and New York before concluding in Philadelphia’s Fillmore Theatre on November 28. Australian indie band The Griswolds and up-and-coming singer/songwriter, LOLO will both perform as special guests. Tickets go on sale on June 26 at andrewmcmahon.com and newpoliticsrock.com.

Vikings, out August 14, is the third full-length album and first for DCD2 Records/Warner Bros. Records for the members of New Politics—David Boyd [lead vocals, guitar], Søren Hansen [bass, guitar, keys, programming] who came to Brooklyn via Denmark, and NY native Louis Vecchio [drums]. The band’s current single, “West End Kids,” reached the top 30 Alternative chart in its first weeks and is steadily climbing. Vikings is a follow up to the band’s A Bad Girl in Harlem, which spawned the commercial knockout, “Harlem,” which landed on multiple trailers for the film Frozen as well as garnering placements for “America’s Got Talent,” Microsoft, and Taco Bell.

Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness’ eponymous album has produced the smash single, “Cecilia and the Satellite,” garnering over 6 million Spotify plays and has become a top 10 hit across both Alternative and AAA radio, now exploding at Hot AC. Aside from his professional successes, McMahon is a survivor of leukemia and founder of the Dear Jack Foundation which advocates for and supports initiatives that benefit adolescents diagnosed with cancer.

Coming along for the cross-country trip are four-piece rockers, The Griswolds, who broke into the scene last year with their critically acclaimed debut album, Be Impressive. Balancing out the male dominated roster is LOLO – hailing from Memphis, TN the spitfire chick with a gigantic voice is set to release her new EP, Comeback Queen, on July 17.
