CFUV 101.9 FM Victoria's Campus Community Radio Station, City of Victoria, DVBA are proud to bring you the Eventide Music Series in its second year!
The 10-week long series will feature both local and touring bands every Thursday from July 2-September 3, 2015 from 5-9pm. All shows will take place at Centennial Square in downtown Victoria, are completely FREE, all ages and will have a beer garden and food trucks.
Thurs, Aug 27 is Super Summer Jam II, the sequel to last summer's huge outdoor celebration of hip-hop, presented by Garden City Grooves. This year SSJ features Seattle's THEESatisfaction, Victoria's The New Groovement, Funkee Wadd and Illvis Freshly.
Stasia Irons and Catherine Harris-White make up the Seattle based duo, THEESatisfaction. Together, they write, produce, and perform their own funk-psychedelic feminist sci-fi material with the warmth and depth of Black Jazz and Sunday morning soul, frosted with icy raps that evoke equal parts Elaine Brown, Ursula Rucker and Q-Tip.

The New Groovement are an eleven-piece funk machine from Victoria BC that blends elements of R&B, soul, and hip-hop to create a funk-i-fied feast for the ears. The band’s sound is as unique as it is versatile with its punchy horns, sweet vocals, clever rhymes, and tight percussion. This is energetic, feel-good music that will get you out of your seat and onto the dance floor!
We're here to help artists and arts organizations reach their audiences and each other.
