A Unique Musical Presentation – ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE

Victoria, BC – June 15, 2015 – Tâm (Phil N Rossner) will be bringing his musical presentation, ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE to Merlin’s Sun Home Theatre, 1983 Fairfield Road, Victoria on Saturday, June 20th at 8pm. Admission is $15.

Tâm basically means “loving heart” and the name was given to Phil by his teacher, Vietnamese Zen Master, poet and author, Thich Nhat Hanh. Tâm is a guitarist, singer and songwriter and has been active in the local music community for over 45 years.

Influenced initially by The Beatles and steeped in the music of the 60’s, he started his music career playing in a number of popular local bands – Slam, Slingshot, Riff Raff, culminating with his own band, The Boz Roz Band.

As “Boz Roz”, he gained kudos from fellow musicians and the press for his guitar playing and, in 2005, collaborated with renowned American guitar slinger Jimmy Thackery to produce a recording of one of his songs.

After many years of playing loud music, a degree of hearing damage, along with a distaste for playing bars, prompted Tâm to leave electric music behind and to concentrate on acoustic versions of the 60’s songs he loved, as well as his own compositions.

Approximately seven years ago, he put together a group to perform chant & song from all spiritual traditions. Gita Yawaste (Song/Devotion) played at many spiritually-based events on Vancouver Island until its members went their separate ways in 2011.

Over the last year, Tâm has been facilitating the Sacred Chant Circle every Friday evening at Sooke Yoga and Wellness.
In ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE, Tâm and Friends (Mark Batterbury, tablas; Christa Rossner, djembe/cajon/vocals; and Marian Schols, vocals/keyboards) will perform two sets – the first comprises of original songs and covers, mostly from the 60’s, of affectionate love and the second set is made up of chant & song of divine love.
