Event Description
Canadian singer/songwriter Tatiana Speed grew up in Vancouver, BC surrounded by the classical music of her mother's piano compositions and the cinematography of her 3-time Academy Award winning father. Beginning with a study of classical music, Tatiana grew up singing in choirs and studying classical piano and violin. She soon moved onto touring with a semi professional Celtic-ensemble and an award winning Chamber Choir that received the honour of performing in Carnegie Hall, NY.
In university she attained degrees in Political science, Enthnomusicology and jazz music. Now a multi-instrumentalist in piano, guitar, vocals, violin and percussion Tatiana has emerged with a unique sound that blends together folk, funk, and jazz with a little afro-latin spice.
Her debut album "Sweet Emptiness", produced by Juno nominee Adam Popowitz, can be found on Soundcloud, Bandcamp and iTunes.
She plays an intimate “Rickshaw Living Room Session” on Friday, May 8th with another Vancouver-based singer-songwriter, Colby Ramsay. Don't miss this lovely songstress in a cozy, candle lit atmosphere... A bit of a departure from the usual Rickshaw vibes and a very special evening!
