Event Description
South of North is the brainchild of Musician Zola McAdie.
The indie/acoustic folk music of South of North is a testament to love and longing, to heartache and heartbreak. Smooth finger picking and percussive guitar rhythms reinforce illustrative lyrics, making you cry with one line and laugh with the next.
South of North is the musical culmination of summers spent by the forests and lakes of southern Ontario playing around hushed campfires and winters spent on the bustling streets of Toronto singing on noisy street corners. A few years of choral training and his parent’s folk/roots music collection gave Zola a passion for singing and a penchant for storytelling leaving him no other option than to pursue music.
Armed with his experience with recording and song-writing hard won from Seneca College, Zola recorded and released his first full length album on November third, 2013. Recorded and mixed by himself and Ben Leggett, 'Sing Don't Speak' was tracked in basements across Ontario in a variety of blanket forts.
