Event Description

Prepare yourself for the musical stylings of two classy young ladies on the rise. Join these old souls as they host a night of laid-back melodies and intimate folk.

Kirsten Ludwig
www.kirstenludwigmusic.com

Inspirations: A Fine Frenzy, Patrick Watson, Norah Jones (the first options for me are Joni Mitchell and Laura Marling - but I thought I'd give you something else to work with as well)
Genre: new age folk

Short Bio: At the age of 21, Kirsten continues to surprise listeners with her thought-provoking and poetically driven lyrics that seem to be written by the fingertips of a soul that has been around for much longer. With a mixture of mature lyrics, hauntingly crisp vocals, and catchy punchlines, Kirsten defies the boundaries of pop with a musical perception that transcends the expected and conventional. Ludwig recently released her sophomore project, an 8-track album titled 'Drifting', free for download exclusively on bandcamp. Her sound leaves you wandering through a dark forest with only the moonlight to guide you.

Abraham
https://www.facebook.com/abrahammusic.abe

Inspirations: Joni Mitchell, Laura Marling, Neil Young
Genre: tender-soulful folk

Short Bio: Abraham’s music is intimate and full of sincerity. Her debut release "This Old Heart" is a collection of seductive, sentimental and admirable feeling. Abraham is a project recently adopted by Singer/Songwriter Sydney Batters of Victoria British Columbia. These songs are, as she says, “a rebirth”. Abraham seems to bring a little bit of each genre to the table. Carrying with her a blend of soulful electric folk and jazzy undertones as well as drawing upon her southern background a subtle twang. Abraham is an artist on the rise who will not to be overlooked. The “This Old Heart” EP is scheduled for release on November 28th of 2014.
