Event Description

Atlantic recording artist Vance Joy has announced the release of his much anticipated debut album. “DREAM YOUR LIFE AWAY” – which includes the breakthrough hit single, “Riptide” – arrives in the U.S. and Canada on September 9th. The album is available for pre-order starting today. Visit http://smarturl.it/DreamYourLifeAway for pre-order links and details.

Vance Joy will trumpet “DREAM YOUR LIFE AWAY” with a range of international live dates, including a major headline tour dubbed the “Dream Your Life Away World Tour 2014.” The trek’s North American leg gets underway October 17th at Dallas’ Trees and then travels through November (see attached itinerary). In addition, the Australian tunesmith will be among the artists appearing at such summer festivals as Chicago’s Lollapalooza (August 2nd), Montreal’s Osheaga Music & Arts Festival (August 3rd), and San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival (August 9th) – for complete details and ticket information, please see www.vancejoy.com.

Vance Joy will be offering a special fan presale beginning today at noon EDT. Fans who purchase a ticket/album package during the presale will also receive songs instantly. Visit https://tickets.warnermusic.com/vancejoy to register for the presale.

“Riptide,” Vance Joy’s debut North American single, is quickly shaping up as a phenomenon. Currently a top 10 favorite at multi format Alternative radio outlets nationwide, the track was declared iTunes’ “Single of the Week” upon its arrival earlier this year while also being ranked among Spotify’s “Top 10 Most Viral Tracks.” What’s more, the “Riptide” companion video is fast approaching 15 million individual views at http://youtu.be/uJ_1HMAGb4k.
For a playlist including “Riptide” and other Vance Joy music, visit http://smarturl.it/streamvancejoy.

Vance Joy – a.k.a. Melbourne-based singer/songwriter James Keogh – has earned an extraordinary array of accolades in recent months, including being named among Shazam’s “10 Artists Predicted To Break In 2014” and Spotify’s “Spotlight Artists For 2014” rankings. Furthermore, Time declared Vance Joy an “Artist To Watch” while Billboard hailed him as one of the “Top 10 Artists Making Global Noise.” More recently, USA Today ranked him among their “Five Australia Acts You Need To Know Now”.

Vance Joy has already spent much of 2014 traveling North America, including a major North American tour as special guest to Young The Giant and performances at South By Southwest, Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, and Firefly Music Festival. Other recent highlights include an electrifying radio session on KCRW’s ever-influential Morning Becomes Eclectic, streaming now at www.kcrw.com/music/shows/morning-becomes-eclectic/vance-joy.

A 4x-platinum certified, top 10 smash in his native Australia, “Riptide” has already proven an international blockbuster for Vance Joy. The track – featured on his 2013 debut EP, “GOD LOVES YOU WHEN YOU’RE DANCING” – is certified platinum in Sweden; gold in Austria, Canada, Germany, Ireland and New Zealand; and silver in the UK. Worldwide, the track is streaming more than 3 million times per week.

Hailed by Entertainment Weekly for “(strumming) like a street-corner busker, but (sneaking) in stadium-size hooks,” Vance Joy cut his teeth in Melbourne’s folk scene, armed with a collection of exquisite, heartfelt songs penned during his post-university travels in India and Southeast Asia. Bigger shows quickly followed, including a sold out Australian headline tour and treks with such diverse artists as Ben Howard, Of Monsters & Men and Julia Stone, as well as US dates alongside Lissie and Tom Odell. Critical acclaim has also begun to gather, with Neon Gold declaring “Riptide” to be “one of the best things to happen to us all year.”
