Event Description

Presenting an evening of high energy folk music! Pay by donation($5 suggested) at the door. The capacity is limited to only 50, so please call ahead or come early!

Knacker's Yard is a six piece Celtic and English folk band from Victoria, B.C. that performs primarily traditional Celtic and English folk songs, instrumentals and ballads dating from the 1600′s up to the 1960′s.

The ensemble of six musicians includes tenor banjo, five-string banjo, bodhran, mandolin, steel-string guitar, vocals and electric bass guitar.

Traditional music enthusiasts will appreciate the song-tales of lost love and betrayal, the misdeeds of ramblers and rakes, emigration, hard drinking and hard living, sea shanties and worker’s songs. In addition to these ballads and chorus songs, Knacker’s Yard also adds the explosive musical energy of traditional instrumental, reels and jigs.
Instrumentation: Mandolin, Tenor Banjo, 5-String Banjo, Guitar, Bass, Vocals, Bodhran

For fans of: The Dubliners, Planxty, The Pogues, The Clancy Brothers, the Longkesh Ramblers and The Exiles.
