Join Nick La Riviere (harmonizer trombone, vocals), Aidan Miller (piano), Reuben Wier (guitar), Sean Drabitt (bass), and Damian Graham (drums) for an exciting night of all original music.
Nick is one of Victoria’s busiest musicians. He’s played with touring bands that have taken him across Canada, the USA, Mexico, and as far as Germany. Now Nick has been working hard on composing, arranging, and recording his own new compositions for an album that will be released next year. The album features music in many genres - rather like the mix of gigs Nick plays with other people’s bands as a sideman. Everything from pop, soul, straight up jazz, and more. His variety of compositions have been compared to artists like Ben Folds, Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Sam Cooke.
Join the band on September 27th for a sneak preview of some of the music that will appear on the new album. The 5 piece band faithfully attempts to reproduce the big multi-layered sound of the album - especially using Nick's programmable harmonizer to create the sound of the full horn section.
Reservations are highly recommended - email [email protected] to claim your table and guarantee entrance if it sells out. Cover is $20 at the door, or $15 for students, members of UJAM and VJS.
