COASTLINE, Victoria's most exciting youth fiddle ensemble will be launching its much anticipated debut album with a party you won't want to miss!
Coastline features a group of exceptionally talented young musicians ranging in age from 13 to 18 led by one of Canada's most outstanding fiddlers, Victoria's own Ivonne Hernandez. Hernandez is the reigning 5-time Grand North American Fiddle Champion and the recipient of numerous national and international fiddling awards. She is also in the popular chamber folk string ensemble The Fretless, who recently won a Western Canadian Music Award and a Canadian Folk Music Award.
This spectacular evening of music will also feature some of Victoria's best musicians including folk singer/songwriters Jeremy Walsh and Colleen Lee Eccleston, pipers Ryan MacDonald and Jamie Troy, award winning multi-instrumentalist Quinn Bachand and of course, Ivonne Hernandez herself.
The evening will also serve as a fundraiser as Coastline is planning to travel to Scotland to participate in the 2015 Aberdeen International Youth Festival (www.aiyf.org). This festival is one of the world's biggest celebrations of youth arts and brings the very best in International culture and the performing arts to Aberdeen, Scotland.
There will be refreshments, raffle baskets and a wonderful silent auction. Please come out to support young local talent and enjoy an evening of world class music!
