One of Australia’s most successful singer-songwriters Pete Murray released his debut Canadian album in 2013. The self titled, 5 track EP comprises some of Pete Murray’s most well known songs in his homeland including ‘So Beautiful’ which won him the ARIA Award (i.e. Australian Juno) for Most Performed Australian work.
As a national icon down under Pete’s musical beginning is an unlikely story… a rising Rugby football star gets so badly injured that he has to leave his sport behind. He picks up an acoustic guitar, teaches himself how to play it and records an indie CD that he sells after shows from the back of his Kombi Van. Pete Murray’s first three albums all hit #1 on the Australian charts, he’s picked up numerous ARIA nominations and sold over a million records. Pete Murray makes his return to Canada this summer, following up his cross-Canada tour last fall with Paul Langlois (The Tragically Hip). As a backpacker, Pete Murray traveled in Canada and was inspired to write some of the tracks on this EP.
